Adjacent commercial buildings in downtown Shrewsbury are headed to foreclosure auction.
One building, a 10,000-square-foot two-story brick building, includes a row of six commercial storefronts below four apartments. Tenants at 566-572 Main St. include Amici's Trattoria, The Hairs Inn and the Paw Spa.
Next door is a 2,200-square-foot building at 564 Main St. home to a United Bank branch.
The larger of the two sites was built in 1925, and the bank building in 2003. Combined, they total nearly an acre and were last assessed by the Town of Shrewsbury at more than $1.5 million. They're both owned by Block Enterprises, which has addresses in Shrewsbury and West Springfield. Block Enterprises is registered to Pamlea Cole of Shrewsbury, according to the Massachusetts Secretary of the Commonwealth.
The auction, scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday at 564 Main St., will include social distancing guidelines with face masks provided to help avoid the spread of coronavirus. Stanley J. Paine Auctioneers, which has local offices in Newton, will conduct the auction.
