Auburn Firm Fixes Effluent Flow

Auburn-based R.H. White recently completed a two-year, $14.8 million combined sewer overflow facility in Chicopee, the company said.

The new facility will disinfect raw sewage that, during periods of heavy rain, previously flowed into the Connecticut River untreated. An estimated 143 million gallons per year of untreated sewage discharge will be processed at the facility during periods of heavy rain.

The project adds to R.H. White's sewage discharge projects, which include another on Medina Street in Chicopee and another in Holyoke.

R.H. White is a contracting and construction firm with about 400 employees across New England.
