Assumption hires new dean of students from N.Y. Jesuit college

Assumption College in Worcester has hired Deborah Cady Melzer as its next vice president of student affairs and dean of students.
Melzer will step into the new role beginning in January. She currently serves as vice president for student development and Title IX coordinator at Le Moyne College, a private Jesuit institution in Syracuse.
In her role at Assumption, Melzer will be responsible for overseeing and assisting with a variety of operational, educational and counseling functions within student affairs. Student affairs includes the departments of Residential Life, Student Conduct, Student Activities, Health Services, Counseling Services and Campus Recreation.
Prior to her work at Le Moyne, Melzer served in student development roles at Fairfield University in Connecticut and as director of Newman Catholic Ministry at Wellesley College.
