The town of Ashland is seeking a partner to transform the historic Valentine Estate into an asset for visitors and residents alike.

The town recently released a request for proposal to bring the property at 133 West Union St. into an active use. Current ideas include, but are not limited to, a performance space, community farm or a farm-to-table restaurant.

The nearly 8-acre property includes a historic barn dating to the 1750s and a 19th century colonial residence with 14 rooms. The property is situated on Route 135.

“The Valentine property holds much promise and we look forward to partnering with someone who shares the community vision of bringing life back into this site while preserving its rich history,” said Town Manager Michael Herbert in a press release.
