The Town of Ashland announced on Monday it has received $564,955 across three grants for various improvement projects ranging from local business development to firefighter safety.
The largest of the three grants includes $300,000 from the Massachusetts Department of Transportation as part of the Shared Winter Streets and Spaces Grant Program, which is earmarked for improvements to Main Street and Front Street in conjunction with the Downtown Revitalization Project, according to the town’s announcement.
The town also received a $250,000 Business Marketing Technical Assistance grant from the state’s Office of Business Development, shared with the nearby Cities of Framingham and Natick. That funding will provide opportunities for local business owners to work with marketing professionals to create, redesign their websites, as well as focus on digital marketing strategies.
Separately, Ashland received a $14,955 grant to assist its fire department in buying new, battery-operated rescue tools.
