Alumni from two of the best business and government schools will offer free consulting to Worcester's Ascentria Care Alliance.

The nonprofit agency was one of 13 to be chosen to receive free consulting from the Harvard Business School and Harvard Kennedy School as part of its Association of Boston Community Action Partners program. Each year, volunteers in the program provide an average of 8,000 hours of free consulting, the equivalent of what the program says is equal to $1.5 million to $2 million in pro bono services.

Consulting is provided by alumni of the Harvard Business School and the Kennedy School, Harvard's school of government and public policy. Among other free consulting recipients was McLean Hospital in Belmont, the largest psychiatric teaching hospital of the Harvard Medical School.

Ascentria serves children, families and the elderly, those with health and developmental disabilities, refugees and immigrants, and those facing economic challenges.

Ascentria's business office and main client center are located in Worcester. The agency has other locations in Connecticut, Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont.
