Ascentria Care Alliance, a Worcester social services nonprofit, has appointed three new members of its board of directors.
The members include Dr. Jeroan Allison at UMass Medical School in Worcester, Stacey Luster at Worcester State University and Sherri Pitcher at Fidelity Bank, which is headquartered in Fitchburg. They join Kim Salmon from Hanover Insurance Group and Fred Jenoure of FEJ Consulting on the five-member board.
Ascentria, which announced the appointments Wednesday, also added two new members to its finance committee: William Mahoney, a vice president and financial consultant at Rockland Trust Investment Services in Worcester, and Alexander C. Bartholomew, a senior vice president and chief investment officer at Bartholomew & Company in Worcester.
Allison is a UMass Medical School professor and the chair of its department of population and quantitative health sciences. His research focuses on understanding the root causes of health disparities and promoting health equity.
Luster is the general counsel for Worcester State and the assistant to the president for employment and equal opportunity, where she works to increase the success of the school's diverse student body.
Pitcher is a senior vice president at Fidelity Bank and chief officer for its LifeDesign program.
Jeff Kinney, Ascentria's chief of staff, said in a statement the agency wanted more Worcester-based directors on its board as part of a review of its strategic direction.
