Ascentria Care Alliance, one of Central Massachusetts’ largest human services nonprofits, has named a new chief of strategic business development at the Worcester-based organization.
Andrew Freilich announced his appointment to the C-suite role in an Oct. 1 post on his LinkedIn profile.
At Ascentria, Freilich will spearhead new business development opportunities, create mission-aligned partnerships, and identify new models of senior care and intergenerational communities, he said in his post.
“What excites me most is the opportunity to create meaningful pathways that allow seniors to live their best lives while strengthening the fabric of communities across New England,” he said in the post.
Freilich comes to Ascentria from his most
recent position as executive director of Briarwood Continuing Care Retirement Community in Worcester, a role he has held since 2022. Before that, he worked for 16 years at SALMON Health and Retirement, based in Milford.
“I’m deeply grateful for my journey at Rogerson Communities – Briarwood Senior Living, and for every resident, colleague, and partner who made the work so rewarding,” Freilich said.
Having generated $142.96 million in revenue in the fiscal year ending on June 30, 2024, Ascentria is the fourth largest human services nonprofit in Central Massachusetts, according to data collected by WBJ’s Research Department.
The organization ended the fiscal year with $183.91 million in assets and 469 local employees.
“I look forward to collaborating with colleagues and partners who share a dedication to creating hope, belonging, and well-being for all,” Freilich wrote. “As I look ahead, I’m energized by Ascentria’s commitment to building thriving, inclusive communities and honored to play a part in their next chapter.”
Freilich’s appointment comes shortly after Ascentria announced it would
move its headquarters from 11 Shattuck St. in Worcester to a 24,615-square-foot facility at 8 Chestnut St. in Worcester. Ascentria declined to provide the information on who held Freilich’s role before he took over.
