Franklin joint-replacement company Arthrosurface has continued its recent string of product innovation by releasing a new toe implant that recently received federal clearance.
The product, the BOSS Toe Fixation system, is intended to improve stabilization and replace the joint at the base of the big toe, providing an alternative to joint fusion surgery that can threaten a person’s activity levels.
The device, recently receiving 501K clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, is intended to be used in conjunction with the company’s existing line of implants and joint systems.
It can be used even in cases of bone loss, the company said.
The product will be available at the end of September.
