The Worcester Arts Council has announced 37 grants for the 2011 funding cycle totaling $74,304.
The funding includes a $10,000 grant to the Worcester Cultural Commission’s Worcester Mural Arts Project. Other community projects receiving funding include horse-and-wagon tours of the Canal District and the Art in the Park and stART on the Street programs.
The grants also include two $4,000 fellowships for local poetry movement founder Alex Charalambides and visual artist Derek Ring.
Funding for the grants comes from the state through the Massachusetts Cultural Commission.
