On the heels of the $13.5 million contract announced between iRobot Corp. and the U.S. Navy Monday, the Bedford company has received a $5.1 million order for the same product from the U.S. Army.
The order is for iRobot’s PackBot, a bomb detecting and disposal robot that can be operated by military personnel from a safe location.
The 14 robots will be delivered to the Army under a standing $286 million contract. The order is the 11th for iRobot systems under the contract.
The order also includes spare parts, laptops, cameras and other related equipment.
