Golf equipment research company Parsons Xtreme Golf is set to open its first store location in Framingham. The store, called PXG Boston, will be a 7,330-square-foot retail store located next to Whole Foods on Route 9.
PXG golf was started by Bob Parsons in Scottsdale, Arizona, in 2013. Parsons made his money when he sold Iowa-based Parsons Technology to California software firm Intuit in 1994 for approximately $67.3 million. He then founded GoDaddy, the Internet domain and hosting company.
Parsons is a self-proclaimed golf nut and purchased The Golf Club Scottsdale, a 292-acre members-only golf course, in 2013 and renamed it Scottsdale National Golf Club. He then started PXG in the hopes of finding the best equipment he could use on the course.
Parsons is the only funder for PXG.
PXG’s store in Framingham will include club fitting bays, a putter fitting studio, a practice putting green, a retails showroom, and a customer lounge.
According to PXG, the company has 12 PGA Tour players and 10 LPGA Tour players on staff.
