Aramark, a national food services company, at the end of March will lay off 64 workers at a Reliant Medical Group facility in Auburn.
The layoffs include 51 food service workers, four floor technicians, two housekeepers and others, according to a notice of the layoffs filed with the Massachusetts Division of Career Services.
The workers are expected to be out of work by March 30.
A spokesman for Aramark, a public company based in Philadelphia, said Tuesday the company has an understanding that affected employees will be hired by a new provider. Aramark told the state at the end of January its workers were not expected to be retained for services at the site.
The Aramark workers have been employed at Reliant Medical Group's Durable Medical Equipment site at 42 Southbridge St. Durable Medical Equipment, a subsidiary of Reliant, provides medical equipment including wheelchairs, hospital beds, oxygen and related supplies, and breast pumps. The subsidiary has more than 30 of its own employees.
Worcester-based Reliant did not return messages seeking comment.
