The Applewild School Board of Trustees has selected an Ohio school administrator as the Fitchburg school’s new head of school, following a unanimous recommendation from the school’s search committee.
The board selected Christie Stover to run the private school with more than 156 students from kindergarten through eighth grade. Stover is currently the head of school at Hudson Montessori School in Hudson, Ohio, which serves 245 students from the toddler level through eighth grade, according to Applewild.
Applewild board president Will Aubuchon said Stover “impressed us all with her energy, her breadth and depth of experience, her understanding of Applewild, and her vision.”
Stover, who will begin her new job July 1, will be the school’s sixth leader since its founding in 1957. She replaces Christopher Williamson, who is retiring after 10 years at the school.
