Anna Maria College in Paxton has added three new members to its board of trustees, who come with expertise in the realms of health and human services, fire science, and public safety, areas the college sees as points of strength for its curriculum.
Kathleen Jordan, resident and CEO of Worcester nonprofit Seven Hills Foundation & Affiliates; Peter Ostroskey, former Massachusetts state fire marshal; and Thomas Turco, former secretary of the Massachusetts Executive Office of Public Safety and Security, joined the board in November, according to a Nov. 16 press release from Anna Maria. They are additions to the board and did not replace any established trustees.
“I am honored to welcome these new members to the Board of Trustees. Their extensive experience in fields critical to the health and safety of our communities will undoubtedly help advance our programs and impact,” Anna Maria President Mary Lou Retelle said in the press release. “These Trustees represent professional sectors undergoing massive change as public safety, emergency management, mental and behavioral health, and related fields adapt to new realities and challenges. I look forward to working with them and engaging their ideas and energy as we work to educate and empower our students as they prepare for careers serving the public good.”
The Anna Maria board of trustees has 11 other members, according to its website.
