Anna Maria College in Paxton is expanding its nursing program to include a four-year, Bachelor of Science in Nursing program.
The National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission and the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing recently approved of the college's new program.
Enrollment is now open and classes will begin in the fall semester.
AMC is not new to nursing. For more than 25 years, the college has offered a bachelor's degree in nursing to individuals who were already licensed as registered nurses (RNs) through a program called RN to BSN. Moving forward, that program will only be offered online. The college will phase out its two-year Associate of Science in Nursing Program, which it started in 2006, when the last class graduates in 2012.
Anne Marie Catalano, who was appointed Director of Nursing Programs in August of 2010, will lead the department.
