American Superconductor Corp. of Devens reported a $10-million profit for its second quarter on revenue that increased 36 percent from a year ago to $101.5 million.
A year ago, the manufacturer of high-power cables and wind turbine components reported a profit of $4.3 million.
The company finished the quarter with cash and equivalents of $131.2 million compared to $120.7 million.
AMSC’s backlog at the end of the quarter was about $956 million.
During the quarter, AMSC acquired a 25-percent stake in UK-based wind turbine blade manufacturer Blade Dynamics and booked a 3-million-meter order for high-temperature wire.
