Devens-based American Superconductor Corp. said it has received an order for 30 sets of wind turbine power components from Hyundai Heavy Industries Co. Ltd. of South Korea.
Hyundai will use the electronic components in 1.65-megawatt wind turbines designed by AMSC subsidiary AMSC Windec. The company expects to ship the components by June 30.
Hyundai licensed AMSC turbines in late 2008 and began producing the turbines last year.
The company will begin making 2-megawatt turbines this year.
AMSC’s components power and control the turbines.
