Devens-based American Superconductor Corp. has received what it called the world’s largest order for high-temperature superconductor wire.
LS Cable Ltd., a Korean cable manufacturer, ordered 3 million meters of AMSC’s wire to complete projects around the world.
AMSC said it would begin shipping the order to LS Cable in 2012.
The two companies have an existing business relationship and earlier this year agreed to make efforts to get high temperature superconductor wire installed in power grids around the world.
Financial terms of the current deal were not disclosed.
