Devens-based American Superconductor Corp. has expanded its strategic partnership with Sinovel Wind Group Co. Ltd. of Beijing.
Under the agreement, the two companies will design and jointly develop a range of wind turbines that Sinovel will sell worldwide. The turbines will be designed for both the on-shore and off-shore markets.
The two companies have had a relationship since 2005. Since then, AMSC has made core electrical components and provided engineering support for Sinovel’s turbines.
The expanded partnership will be headed up by AMSC’s subsidiary AMSC Windtec.
