Pharmaceutical law expert Jeffrey Wiesen has been appointed to the board of directors for Southborough-based Amorsa Therapeutics, the neuropharmaceutical firm announced Friday.
According to Amorsa, Wisen has practiced law in the biotech industry since its inception. He’s previously chaired Boston-based law firm Mintz Levin, where he assisted companies ranging from startups to public firms.
Wiesen served as president and CEO of the law firm from 1994 to 1996, and he’s a frequent lecturer for the Biotechnology Industry Organization, the American Law Institute and the Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education Foundation, and others.
The five-year-old company now looks to utilize Wiesen’s vast experience in biotech law, including alliances, venture financing, mergers and acquisitions and public offering.
