March of Dimes Central Massachusetts in Worcester announced significant changes to its auction format on Wednesday, saying it will hold the events online and donate items to local neonatal intensive care unit nurses in lieu of sending them home with the highest bidder.
The hope is winning bidders will be eager to support both the March of Dimes and the local health care community, according to a press release.
The next Bid it Forward event, the Signature Chefs Auction, is scheduled for 7 p.m. on July 30 and will run live via Zoom.
Support for March of Dimes goes toward providing free virtual NICU support programs for families, virtual prenatal programs, COVID-19 interventions, programs that promote health equity and combat racial disparities in maternal and child health, educational programs and more.
More information about the July auction is available online.
