Framingham-based Energy efficiency and renewable energy provider Ameresco said second-quarter financial results, announced Thursday, exceeded expectations.
The company said revenue for the quarter was $142.6 million, compared to $126.3 million in 2013 (up 13 percent). Additionally, second-quarter operating income was $3.8 million, compared to an operating loss of $1.9 million in the second quarter of last year.
For the first half of the year, the company reported revenue of $243.3 million, but an operating loss of $3 million.
Shares of Ameresco, which trades on the NASDAQ market, opened at $7.22 on Thursday.
