Ameresco to mentor veteran-owned small business

Framingham renewable energy company Ameresco entered a joint venture with Hannah Solar Government Services LLC, a veteran-owned renewable energy small business based in South Carolina, according to a Wednesday announcement.
Through the collaboration, the Ameresco team will mentor HSGS while both companies work to present cleantech solutions to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and other federal agencies, the press release stated.
The joint venture was made possible through the SBA Mentor Protégé Program partners eligible small businesses with more established companies. The goal of the program is to help small businesses gain experience and publicity while earning potential government contracts.
HSGS served as a subcontractor for Ameresco for five years before entering the joint venture.
