Ameresco to install smart meters in Texas

Framingham energy firm Ameresco announced Wednesday a partnership with the city of Seabrook, Texas.
Through the collaboration, Ameresco will lead a smart-metering infrastructure improvement project including the installation of solid-state water meters and an advanced metering infrastructure system, according to the press release.
Ameresco will replace more than 4,100 water meters throughout the city resulting in an annual cost savings of over $50,000.
Construction is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2021 and the new water system will launch by spring, per the release.
