Framingham-based Ameresco has signed a $2.9 million energy savings contract with the Kentucky School District.
The energy efficiency and renewable energy company will work with the Wolfe County Schools to increase operational efficiency. The upgrades will include LED lighting and water system upgrades as well as complete heating and cooling replacements. The changes are expected to deliver greater energy efficiency with an estimated $150,000 annual savings.
The project will also have environmental benefits that include cutting electrical usage by 600,000 kwh — equating to the elimination of 1 million miles driven by a passenger vehicle — and an annual water reduction of 800,000 gallons per year.
