Energy efficiency and renewable energy company Ameresco has secured a foothold in Britain and will be able to go after government contracts in the country.
The Framingham company announced Tuesday that it had secured a place on four key frameworks that make use of energy performance contracts (EPCs) to invest in energy efficiency systems. This designation will allow Ameresco UK to pursue public sector contracts.
“The public sector is under increasing pressure to cut spending, while also meeting specific carbon targets. There are realistic and measurable ways to achieve this, and EPCs provide a secure, cash positive solution to improve energy efficiency,” Britta MacIntosh, VP of UK Operations London for Ameresco, said in a statement.
Ameresco has worked on a wide range of multi-million dollar public sector projects within the U.S., with clients including the federal government, municipalities, schools and public housing authorities. The company is coming off a positive first quarter of the year where it returned to profitability.
