Ameresco Profits Up 21 Percent
Framingham-based renewable energy and efficiency company Ameresco Inc. announced profits of $34.7 million on $728.2 million in revenue for 2011.
Profits were up 20.9 percent over 2010, and revenues grew 17.8 percent. It was Ameresco's second year as a publicly traded company after a 2010 initial public offering.
Fourth-quarter profits were $8.2 million on $188.5 million in revenues, up 7.1 percent and 5.1 percent, respectively, over the fourth quarter of 2010.
For the year, the company generated $597.8 million in revenue from its backlog, an increase of nearly 18 percent. As of the end of December, Ameresco had a $1.22-billion construction backlog, with another $741.2 million in estimated future projects.
