Ameresco Partners With Ill. School For Energy Efficiency, Upgrades
Energy efficiency and renewable energy company Ameresco Inc. of Framingham, has signed an energy savings performance contract with a school district in southeastern Illinois.
As part of the $1.1-million contract, Ameresco will perform upgrades to the Grayville Community Unit School District #1 infrastructure over the 10-week summer break. Ameresco was approached by the district in spring 2011 to assess infrastructure upgrade needs and environmental improvement possibilities.
The initial phase of the contract was signed in March. The project includes energy improvements such as replacing aged infrastructure materials for health and safety purposes, implementing accessibility improvements for the disabled and performing power upgrades.
