Ameresco enters into university conservation project

Framingham renewable energy company Ameresco entered into an energy savings performance contract with Tarleton State University in Texas, according to a Wednesday announcement.

The goal of the collaboration is to enhance campus conditions, promote overall sustainability and improve the reliability and quality of facility operations, the press release stated.

Planned improvements at Tarleton State University include: light-emitting diode (LED) lighting retrofits and replacements, water fixture improvements and HVAC lifecycle replacements.

Through the ESPC, the university will reduce their electricity use and natural gas consumption by 21-23% each year, according to the announcement.

Construction for the conservation project began in June 2021 and is expected to be completed by June 2022.
