Ameresco completes $1M Connecticut project

Energy efficiency company Ameresco, headquartered in Framingham, has completed an energy efficiency project for the Mattabassett District in Cromwell, Conn., which is expected to result in more than $1 million in energy savings over the course of 12 years.

The project, contracted with Ameresco for $983,482, involved numerous energy-saving measures at the wastewater treatment plants serving New Britain, Middletown, Berlin and Cromwell, according to a release from Ameresco. These improvements included plant-wide integrated temperature controls, a modernized building lighting system, high efficiency HVAC units and low-voltage transformer replacements.

The project guarantees an estimated 581,909 kWh in total energy savings. Construction was completed in November.
