Framingham energy management firm Ameresco Inc. has signed a contract with the McAllen Independent School District in Texas for energy efficiency measures expected to save more than $1.2 million annually.
The improvements include new lighting fixtures and controls, low-flow sink aerators, new technology to run computers and thermostats more efficiently and the replacement of four failing roofs and heating and air conditioning units.
The project will eliminate the production of 6,498 tons of carbon dioxide a year, Ameresco said.
