Woburn-based LifeLine Ambulance Services has renewed its Worcester lease and expanded its fleet after signing contracts with several new health care facilities.
The company said Monday it has extended the lease for its Central Massachusetts Division headquarters at 165 Southbridge St., a 9,600-square-foot building next to Curry Printing and across from Coney Island Hot Dogs. It is owned by 165 Southbridge Street Realty.
“We are lucky to have the location we do in Worcester,” said Brian Connor, the company’s founder and CEO. “In fact, our drivers rave about the hot dogs from Coney Island, so I think I’d have a difficult time convincing them to go somewhere else in the city.”
The company hired Jennifer Weaver, a registered nurse from Shrewsbury, for the newly-created position of vice president of Central Massachusetts. Additional hires are expected to follow, the company said.
The Worcester area will also be the first LifeLine site in the country to use a state-of-the-art paperless patient reporting system.
LifeLine, an ambulance firm and healthcare transportation provider, was founded in 2006 and employs 325 across Massachusetts and New Hampshire.
