Amazon opens 350K-sq.-ft. robotics facility in Westborough

Retail giant Amazon announced the opening of a new, 350,000 square foot Amazon Robotics manufacturing facility in Westborough on Thursday.
The facility reportedly created over 200 jobs, per Amazon's announcement.
The site will include corporate offices, research and development labs, and manufacturing space. Amazon Robotics also operates a site in North Reading, although the Westborough facility was described as the first of its kind.
The Westborough facility will primarily focus on manufacturing Amazon Robotics mobile drive units. The company reports using over 350,000 of such units, which help fulfill orders, in its facilities worldwide.
