Natick weight-loss firm Allurion Technologies has hired Brian Conyer to lead commercialization of its digital assets, including its newly launched commercial agreement with a German weight-loss group.
Conyer began as vice president of digital commercialization in January, according to his LinkedIn profile. Prior to joining Allurion, he co-founded the Los Angeles-based on-demand medical evaluation platform GIBLIB, where he is CEO, according to a Tuesday press release from Allurion, which describes Conyer as a serial entrepreneur after he founded two companies.
“I am thrilled to be joining Allurion at such a pivotal moment,” Conyer said in the press release. “The demand for weight-loss solutions has never been higher, and I believe Allurion’s VCS (virtual care suite) digital platform will become an essential part of any successful weight-loss practice that wants to operate at scale.”
Allurion’s new commercial agreement with Weight Doctors in Germany will expand the locations where the Allurion suite is used and aims to enroll more new patients.
“We believe digital solutions will benefit significantly from the rapidly expanding market opportunity in weight loss, and we aim to leverage our decade of expertise to be at the forefront with customers. Our growth with Weight Doctors underscores the power that Allurion’s digital platform and suite of AI tools have in fulfilling this need for clinics serving large volumes of patients,” Allurion Founder and CEO Shantanu Gaur said in the press release.
Allurion became publicly traded on the New York Stock Exchange in August and added an artificial intelligence coach to its suite in the same month.
