Framingham life science consulting firm Alira Health is planning to more than double its lab space on Grant Street from 5,700 to 13,000 square feet, according to recently filed planning documents with the city.
The company currently operates on the fourth floor of a 60,000-square-foot Grant Street building.
Alira Health’s plans to double its lab space comes just more than two months after it acquired another Framingham company, Clinical Assistance Programs, on Feb. 20. Terms of that deal were not disclosed, but Alira Health said the company is strengthened by bringing on the clinical trial management and consulting firm.
In a statement in February, Alira Health CEO Gabriele Brambilla said CAP's clinical trial management expertise complements Alira's services perfectly.
"This strategic acquisition enhances our ability to support our clients' drug and device clinical research programs," Brambilla said. "With the addition of CAP's outstanding team, Alira Health continues its focus on advancing innovation in healthcare."
