AIS, a Leominster furniture maker, and FLEXcon, a Spencer manufacturer of coated and laminated films, both opened their doors to local students on Manufacturing Day.
AIS also hosted Gov. Charlie Baker on Thursday as part of a series of events marking October as Manufacturing Month.
FLEXcon hosted students from David Prouty High School in Spencer, and AIS hosted students from three Worcester schools: Forest Grove Middle School, Worcester East Middle School, and Worcester Technical High School. Manufacturing Day was Oct. 4.
Baker's visit to AIS included touring the manufacturing floor and meeting with employees. The company, with more than 600 manufacturing employees at the Leominster headquarters, is marking its 30th anniversary this year.
Massachusetts has more than 250,000 manufacturing workers at more than 7,000 companies, according to the state.
