The Associated Industries of Massachusetts is launching a new multi-year initiative to help employers learn about ways to control the rising cost of health insurance.
The Health Cost Solution will include briefings, seminars, trainings and online resources. Starting in the fall, managers will also be able to enroll in in-depth a seven-part certificate series covering issues like plan design, working with brokers and employee education.
“[S]olving the health-cost crisis will require employers to develop a long-term plan and to mount the same sort of sustained effort they put into [production improvement methods] Kaizen or Six Sigma,” Sandra L. Reynolds, the director of the new initiative, said in a statement.
The first part of the initiative, starting in June, consists of six free forums featuring employers who have taken on health care costs in innovative ways.
