Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healey will speak to students at the College of the Holy Cross this afternoon about her experiences as attorney general and her path to office.
“This is a great opportunity for our prelaw and other interested Holy Cross students to meet the state’s attorney general in person,” accounting professor Scott Sandstrom said in a statement from the school. “Maura Healey is the chief lawyer and enforcement officer in Massachusetts, and as such, she is in a position where she can institute changes that can make our state a better place to live.”
Among her many duties, Healey oversees the prosecution of consumer fraud and other business-related cases in the state.
Inaugurated to her current post in January, Healey joined the Civil Rights Division of the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office in 2007. She was promoted to chief of the Public Protection & Advocacy Bureau, and later became chief of the Business and Labor Bureau.
The program, open to the public, is at 3:30 p.m. in Hogan Suites B and C at the college in Worcester. It will be moderated by Jamie Hoag, director of government and community relations at Holy Cross.
This event is sponsored by government and community relations, the prelaw program, diversity and inclusion, Outfront, and the Center for Career Development.
