Acton mobile network firm Affirmed Networks’ Mobile Content Cloud has been chosen by Japan-based Softbank, Affirmed announced Monday.
The company’s content cloud solution will deliver Internet of Things services and mobile connectivity to telecommunication operator SoftBank’s enterprise customers, Affirmed said in a press release.
The growth of mobile devices and the connected world could be key for service providers’ growth, but Affirmed says growth is hampered by inflexible architecture of legacy networks.
The company’s mobile content cloud eliminates those barriers, Affirmed said.
Softbank, a major telecommunication operator to Japanese businesses, said in a statement it selected Affirmed Networks because of the company’s flexibility and support for 5G networks.
"The proliferation of connected devices and the industry's shift to virtualized networks creates a real opportunity for us to efficiently deliver IoT and M2M services to our enterprise customers," said Sadahiro Sato, senior vice president at SoftBank. "With Affirmed Networks' proven platform, we have the flexibility to deliver services tailored to the needs of each enterprise quickly and easily over a common network infrastructure."
