Aetna experiences power shift

There's a new face in the president's office at Aetna in Hartford. Mark T. Bertolini, 51, was named president of Aetna this morning, snagging the title from Ronald A. Williams. Williams, previously chairman, president and CEO, has dropped his title of president, but will continue as chairman and CEO. Currently, Bertolini is executive vice president and head of business operations at the insurance giant, a position he was promoted to earlier in the year. Bertolini has been with Aetna since 2003, when he joined as senior vice president of specialty products, and he has been moving up ever since. Before joining Aetna, Bertolini held positions with Cigna, NYLCare and SelectCare.
