Worcester-based AdCare Hospital has launched a new outpatient program targeting Baby Boomers and older patients struggling with substance abuse.
The program, formally known as the Boomers and Beyond Intensive Outpatient Program, offers recovery counseling; education; goal setting and skills development opportunities for patients, according to a statement issued Wednesday.
“Because men and women age 50 and over have different physiological, emotional, mental health and spiritual needs than their younger counterparts, they can benefit from group treatment with their peers,” said David Hillis, vice president of AdCare Outpatient Services, said in the statement.
