Ad Revenues Drag Down T&G Parent

Advertising revenue for the New York Times Co. ‘s New England Media Group, which includes the Worcester Telegram & Gazette and the Boston Globe, decreased 12 percent in April as the company’s total operating revenues fell by 2.2 percent compared to April 2007.

The New England group’s advertising revenues fell from $39.7 million in April 2007 to $34.9 million last month.

The company’s circulation revenue actually increased by 3.3 percent from $84.2 million to $87 million, but it wasn’t enough to offset a decrease of 5.1 percent in advertising revenue.
