It seems that advertising and marketing executives can't just relax while on vacation.
Results of a survey by the Creative Group indicate that 61 percent of advertising and marketing executives check in with work at least once each day while on vacation.
That's a substantial increase over past years. In 2006, 47 percent said they checked in every day while on vacation and in 2001, 38 percent said a daily call to the office was in order.
Over the same time, the number of executives who said they call the office several times a day rose from 11 percent to 19 percent to 30 percent in the most recent survey.
The Creative Group, a staffing agency focused on the advertising and marketing industry, said vacationing executives should leave someone in charge, call to check in only at specified times and make sure clients know they won't be in the office.
