Product Insight, Inc., an Acton-based product development firm, has leased 21,512 square feet of space at 80 Central St. in Boxborough, part of a 375,000-square-foot campus called Tech Central.
The firm will use the space for its new headquarters, according to a Monday press release from Greater Boston Commercial Properties in Northborough. GBCP Vice President James Keefe represented Product Insight in the deal.
“We had a very particular and challenging set of facility requirements,” Jim Varney, vice president and co-founder of Product Insight, said in the press release.
The addition of a drive-in door resolved a major requirement for the firm, and a long-term lease was secured.
Product Insight was founded in 1991, and is currently located at 1 Post Office Square in Acton. It offers research and development, industrial design, and engineering services to companies developing products. The company specialized in biotech, commercial equipment, and responsible design, according to its website. A timetable for the move was not available.
Tech Central, comprising 80 & 90 Central St., is owned by Atlanta-based Piedmont Office Realty Trust. The nearly 149,661-square-foot building at 80 Central St. was built in 1988 and renovated in 1999, according to a flyer from Chicago-based real estate giant JLL, who listed the property through its Boston office. The neighboring 175,000-square-foot 90 Central St. was built in 2001.
