An Acton home construction company has changed hands, with long-time employees taking ownership from the company’s founders.
Kistler & Knapp Builders Inc. announced that Douglas Stevenson and Renee West assumed control of the company Jan. 1. Members of the Kistler & Knapp business since 1994, Stevenson is now the company’s principal and president, while West is a principal and treasurer. They have taken over for founders Dennis Kistler and David Knapp.
Started in 1978, the company specializes in custom home construction, restorations and additions and commercial construction..
Stevenson, a Carlisle resident, started with the company as a project supervisor. In 2007, he was promoted to project manager and named vice president of operations. West, of Maynard, was in an accounting role before being named vice president of finance in 2007.
