William J. Masiello Architect Inc. of Boylston won an Outstanding Design Award as a Post-Secondary Educational Facility from American School & University in its annual awards issue. The firm earned the award for its design of Becker College's George F. and Sybil H. Fuller Campus Center in Leicester.
Thomas J. Bartholomew, president of Worcester-based wealth management firm Bartholomew & Co. Inc., was named to Barron's list of America's Top 1,200 financial advisors for 2014. As an independent financial advisor affiliated with the Commonwealth Financial Network, he also recently earned Commonwealth Chairman's status.
Garry Weiner, former chairman of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Mass/MetroWest's board of directors, was awarded the Colleen O'Brien Memorial Award for fundraising efforts and leading the agency through its recent executive transition.
Patrick Stephan of Uxbridge was awarded the Dr. H. Martin Deranian Fellowship Award by Big Brothers Big Sisters of MetroWest. The award is given to a volunteer with outstanding contributions. Stephan has been a mentor to his Little Brother, Justin, since 2008.
Milford-based Waters Corp.'s Acquity QDa detector has won a Pittcon Editors' Silver award for most innovative product at the Pittsburgh Conference on Analytical Chemistry and Applied Spectroscopy. It's the fourth such product award from the group for Waters, a global laboratory instrument manufacturer, in 10 years.
Daniel F. Girard Jr., president and founder of Girard Financial Group in Millbury, has qualified for “Court of the Table” designation as part of the Million Dollar Round table professional group. This is the fourth time Girard has qualified. The designation recognizes client service, ethics and professionalism.
