Whitinsville-based UniBank was given the Stoddard Award by the United Way of Central Massachusetts for outstanding leadership and strong volunteer and financial support. The bank's combined total contribution to United Way was more than $68,000 during 2012, the bank said.

Ellen Harvey, executive vice president of E.L. Harvey & Sons of Westborough, was inducted into the Environmental Industry Association's Hall of Fame at a national awards ceremony in New Orleans. EIA is the non-profit trade association that represents for-profit companies in the waste and recycling industry.
GFA Federal Credit Union in Gardner recognized members of its student advisory board: Michael Nicholson, Mark Carpentier, Sarah Chatigny, Jackie Nicholson, Jessica Aho, Mallory Griczika, Skyla Johnson, Meredith Minns and Kyle Weidler, for their 18-month terms. The students, from Gardner High School, had their names inscribed on the credit union's Financial Literacy Tree at the main office.
Gardner-based GVNA Healthcare Inc. won an award from the Home Care Alliance of Massachusetts for community outreach in Fitchburg through its Community Services Center.
Southbridge-based Schott, a glass manufacturer, was given a 3-Star Supplier Award from defense contractor Raytheon Co., of Waltham. The recognition involved Schott's providing of products for the Aegis ballistic missile defense system.
David P. Laliberte was honored by Southbridge Savings Bank for his 38 years of service to the bank. He was elected a corporator in 1975 and is leaving the bank as a vice chairman and member of the executive committee.
