Bob Waitt, president of Leominster-based Albright Technologies, won an EMERGE Award from the North Central Mass. Chamber of Commerce. Waitt was one of 10 professionals lauded for their career and community work. Waitt, the company's vice president of business development, was named president and CEO at the silicone prototype molding firm earlier this year.
Tim Murray, president of the Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce, won two awards recently for his work as lieutenant governor. The Massachusetts National Guard presented him with the Outstanding Civilian Award at Hanscom Air Force Base for his support of the military. Also, the Massachusetts Association of Vocational Administrators in Bolton lauded Murray with the David F. Cronin Award for his support of vocational technical education.
Dan Nigrosh, president of Can-Am Machinery in Fitchburg, was honored by North Country Land Trust. He was recognized for his leadership in protecting and promoting riverfront, open spaces, trails and vistas. The Fitchburg Greenway Committee has been meeting at Can-Am Machinery, a used equipment dealer for the pulp and paper industry, since 2009.
Lancaster-based Doctor Franklin Perkins School earned accreditation by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges. The private, special education school serves students in grades K-12. An evaluation team spent three days at the school observing activities and talking with staff.
Northborough-based Pongo, an online provider of resume-building, interviewing and other job-search tools, has been named one of 100 best career resources for graduate-level college students by OnlinePhDProgram.org, a website that provides study tips and career advice for advanced-degree candidates.
