Worcester’s Massachusetts Biomedical Initiatives (MBI) won the MassBio Leading Impact Award for improving the competitiveness of Massachusetts as a destination for the life sciences industry. MBI President and CEO Kevin O’Sullivan accepted the award March 14 in Cambridge. The award was developed by MassBio’s Economic Development Advisory Group to annually recognize contributions made by innovative organizations within the industry.
Jenna Alimberti of the Worcester Police Department; Kevin Chviruk of the Worcester Public Schools, Custodian Services; Michael Masley Jr. of Oxford High School and Patricia Ryan of the Worcester Public Schools, Sullivan Middle School have been chosen by Worcester Regional Research Bureau as recipients of the Thomas S. Green Public Service Award. The awards were presented recently at Assumption College in Worcester.
Robin A. Duncan, vice president of marketing and communications at Mount Wachusett Community College, was named 2013 Communicator of the Year Award by the National Council for Marketing & Public Relations. The award was presented during the council’s national conference in Chicago. The Gardner-based college’s marketing and communications division also received a gold Paragon Award in the direct-mail category and a silver Paragon Award in the student handbook category.
